How to include juice in an ordinary day

Keep meals in place and treat juice as a drink.

A useful juice routine does not need an hour-by-hour fasting timetable. If you enjoy carrot-and-apple juice, have a modest amount alongside balanced meals. Juice and supplements are not substitutes for the energy, protein and variety that meals provide.

Plan meals first

Keep breakfast, lunch and dinner, with suitable snacks if needed. Include protein foods, grains or other starchy foods, vegetables and fruit across the day. Drink water according to your needs and any medical advice.

NHS guidance limits the combined daily amount of fruit juice, vegetable juice and smoothies to 150 ml, taken with a meal. Pour a small glass to enjoy with breakfast or lunch, and keep water available through the day.

02

Should supplement use change?

Indigo’s published directions say twenty tablets once or twice a day and recommend taking them in the morning before food. Follow the directions on your current pack.

Keep each supplement at the amount advised for that product. Drinking juice does not require extra Vplus, Indigold or Fibre Plus. If you are hungry, have adequate food rather than taking more tablets.

If a clinician has prescribed a diet, ask them whether your supplements fit it. Follow their advice and your current product packs.

Choose a recipe you enjoy

Carrot and green apple are one option. A little ginger or lemon changes the flavour, and you can vary the ingredients to suit your taste and dietary needs. Make a quantity that fits the portion you plan to drink.

Wash produce, remove damaged portions and clean the equipment after use. Make a small quantity rather than preparing a full day’s meal replacements. The recipe page explains the difference between blending and juicing.

Respond to tiredness or dizziness

Do not attribute weakness or headaches to a beneficial cleanse. If restricting food makes you feel unwell, stop and seek advice. Avoid driving, swimming or exercising while dizzy or faint.

A balanced eating plan should support daily activity. If you have already had little food for several days, get professional guidance on restoring intake instead of following a generic juice timetable.
