Two algae and
one concentrate.

Every Vplus tablet is pressed from two whole algae, Chlorella sorokiniana and Spirulina platensis, plus Indigold, our concentrate of Chlorella sorokiniana extract, spirulina extract and Crypthecodinium cohnii. Chlorella sorokiniana binds itself when it is pressed, so we add no binder to hold the tablet together. Vplus contains no artificial additives and no heavy metals. Most chlorella supplements use vulgaris or pyrenoidosa. Vplus uses sorokiniana, a round single-cell alga grown in freshwater ponds and dried whole, so the tablet carries everything the cell held: protein, carotenoids, nucleic acids and the growth factor unique to chlorella. It is also the fastest-growing chlorella strain, so it can be farmed as a crop rather than harvested. Why Vplus uses Chlorella sorokiniana.

A different branch of life.

Spirulina is a cyanobacterium that grows as spiral threads up to half a millimetre long, thirty to fifty times the size of a chlorella cell. It sits on a separate branch of life from green algae and carries two pigments: chlorophyll, the green one, in higher concentration than chlorella, and phycocyanin, the blue one that only blue-green algae make. A four-week trial using 5 g of chlorella daily in adults with mildly elevated cholesterol reported improvements in some blood lipids. Spirulina trials have also examined cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose, with results varying across studies and populations.

These are findings about specific algae preparations and doses, not established effects of Vplus. You cannot assume its combined serving matches the ingredients or amounts used in these trials.

In a human trial, chlorella supplementation increased natural-killer-cell activity and changed immune signalling markers. This makes immune function a relevant area of research for Chlorella sorokiniana, one of Vplus’s core algae ingredients.

An eight-week placebo-controlled trial using 5 g of chlorella daily found changes in natural-killer-cell activity and other immune markers in healthy adults.

Changes in immune markers do not establish fewer infections. The trial did not test Vplus or demonstrate the same effect from its combined formula.

Inside the formula

Ingredients and how they differ.

How is Vplus different from a multivitamin?

A multivitamin is a set of isolated nutrients made in a factory. Vplus is a whole-food supplement: Chlorella sorokiniana, spirulina and Indigold, pressed into tablets, so the nutrients come in the form they take in the plants themselves, along with their protein, chlorophyll and fibre. From the box it works out at S$3.61 a day at one sachet.

How is Chlorella sorokiniana different from the chlorella in the pharmacy?

Most chlorella products are Chlorella vulgaris or pyrenoidosa, which have a thick cell wall that manufacturers have to crack by machine. Chlorella sorokiniana has an extremely thin cell wall, so the body absorbs it naturally. It also grows faster and carries more Chlorella Growth Factor. We have used only this species since the beginning.

Your daily routine

Taking Vplus and suitability.

Twenty tablets sounds like a lot.

They are small, about the size of a pea. Twenty tablets weigh four grams, the same as a teaspoon of powder, and most people swallow them in two or three mouthfuls with water.

How long before I feel anything?

Vplus is a food supplement taken as part of a varied diet, not a treatment, so there is no fixed timeline and individual experiences differ. Take it daily as directed on the pack and give it a full box as part of your routine.

Can my children take it? What about during pregnancy?

Please consult a healthcare professional before giving Vplus to a child, and before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Always follow the directions on the product label.
