Giving Vplus to a child: what to check first

Consider suitability and preparation together.

Before deciding how to crush or mix Vplus, ask your child’s doctor or pharmacist whether it is suitable and what amount, if any, to use. Age alone is not enough to set a safe serving, and do not scale an adult direction down by guesswork.

Check before crushing the tablets

Take the current pack to a pharmacist and ask whether you may crush this product. Also explain why you want to change its form: a child who struggles with swallowing may need advice beyond a different preparation method.

If the pharmacist confirms crushing is suitable, ask for clear instructions on the amount, the equipment and how soon to use the mixture. Do not use an adult sachet as a child’s portion unless a healthcare professional has advised it.

02

Ask what it can be mixed with

Yoghurt, porridge or a smoothie may sound convenient, but check that the suggested food and temperature are suitable for this product and your child. Do not assume the powder will dissolve, lose its colour or have no taste.

If the pharmacist approves mixing, use the amount and method they advise. Mixing a serving into a large bowl or bottle makes it hard to tell how much your child took if they do not finish. Avoid hiding it in a shared meal or preparing it for school without clear instructions for the adult supervising.

Who can advise on an amount?

A paediatrician or pharmacist can consider age, growth, diet, allergies, medicines and swallowing ability. Our team can send the ingredient list and pack information, but we do not prescribe doses for children.

Keep the product out of children’s reach and supervise any use a professional has advised. Stop and seek medical advice after a suspected reaction. Vplus does not replace meals, vegetables or treatment for a nutritional deficiency.
