How to read a supplement label

1. Read every ingredient. Include blends, extracts and capsule or tablet ingredients. A short list is easy to inspect, but list length is not a quality score.

2. Find the serving size. Note tablets, capsules, scoops or sachets, then check whether nutrient amounts apply to one piece or the full serving.

3. Match the amount and unit. Milligrams and micrograms are different units. A reference percentage is a comparison with a stated reference, not a personal recommendation.

4. Read the directions. Check frequency, preparation, food timing and storage. Before-food or after-food directions do not reveal whether a vitamin is natural or synthetic.

5. Check product details. Look for the responsible company, contact information, batch identification and date. Ask the seller to explain anything missing or unclear.

Vplus names Chlorella sorokiniana, spirulina and Indigold in its formula. Read the full current ingredient information for the components of the blend, rather than treating the front name as the whole list.

Each tablet weighs 200 mg. A Formula sachet contains twenty tablets, so the full sachet weighs 4 g. A box contains thirty-one sachets. These are tablet weights and pack counts, not the amount of each nutrient.

A label may not explain the complete cultivation process, all manufacturing steps or the scope of laboratory testing. Ask for specific information if those details matter to your choice.
